UpCall 19

Overview

UpCall 19 ('Media Search End with Message') has been defined since RISC OS 4 as a modified form of UpCall 4 ('Media Search End'). It has the same semantics as UpCall 4, except that any notice to the user is updated to contain the new message supplied in R1.

UpCall 19 replaces UpCall 4 for filing systems which provide such notifications. It is intended for use where the operation requested may take a significant amount of time, and feedback is needed to inform the user that the operation is continuing after the media failure.
